Soil 052: Heresy (Chn) - “Apocalypse" Demo Tape

Under the Dark Soil is proud to present “Apocalypse” - a thematically coherent symphonic black metal relic to honour the glorious past of HERESY.

Hailing from Nanchang, HERESY is one of the oldest Chinese black metal bands since its formation in 1997. Following the release of two albums, i.e. "Hymn" and "Foggy Town" respectively, HERESY gained a wide recognition in the underground extreme metal scene of China. “Apocalypse” was then third album set for release in 2005. The recording initiated but was unfortunately never finalised due to various reasons ('镰刃' was the only track with vocal part recorded). Band activities subsequently ceased and HERESY went into eternal slumber.

Having communicated with the founding member Jianhua "Gall" Qiu, we are pleased to confirm that the long-hidden demo version of "Apocalypse" will now be presented in its most primitive form for the first time ever on cassette tape via the Soil. Eight tracks of apocalyptic hymns unleashed from the ghosts residing in the foggy town. A must listen for those drawn to old school symphonic black metal, and Asian black metal at large.

Le split Misotheismus/Trhä est intéressant car il "casse" une règle tacite de Trhä qui consiste à toujours utiliser un langage inventé ou au moins inintelligible. Misotheismus la respecte, à l'exception du sample qui ouvre "Untitled XIV" qui laisse penser qu'on est dans un règlement de comptes voire une scène de torture. Il n'est pas interdit de penser que ce thème traverse tout le split, ce qui explique pourquoi le black metal des deux artistes est aussi violent ; même Trhä se passe du synthé ! Jordan Vauvert
