Soil 036: Castlerock (US) - "Honmaru" Pro Tape

CASTLEROCK IS THE LAST STAND OF THE SHIRO AND THE SWANSONG OF THE SENGOKU ERA.

Japanese fortress dungeon synth inspired by the shiro golden age and the summer solace winds of glorious nippon that wades through the blessed light of the Buddha and the courtyard moat of the meandering river to be unchained on cassette tape upon the summer of 2022.

Caught in the crimson caress of the rising sun, hypnotic melodies riding the faint sea breeze of silver coastlines, rises from sacred land that entity towering in herald of Castlerock. Painted into life by the brushstroke of Koreltsak, more infamous for its expression of raw black metal, as well as the noise poetry expressed through Visions of Yōkai, Castlerock is the light to the darkness of those sounds. A soothing journey of dungeon synth reverie that is brought to acolytes of the mandala by the dark earthen talons of Under the Dark Soil.

Honmaru is the first incantation of the Kuruwa trilogy and is inspired by those shiro fortresses that still stand upon the sacred shores and mountain peaks of Nippon to this very day. Erected in stark contrast to the usual dissonance fulminated by Koreltsak, Honmaru is a serene and relaxing spring walk through the castle grounds. A peaceful journey of dungeon synth expression that whispers of the petal’s lonely waltz across the moat waters, the sanguine gaze of the harvest moon, as well as hinting at those threats of darkness outside the walls, and within. A trance of tune held by song of synth, Honmaru is the refuge of the warrior, the last stronghold of the noble spirit.

Limited to 50 cassette tapes born between the crimson and snow petals of the hibiscus. Available in transparent (15 copies) and dark smoke (35 copies) variants respectively.
