CASTLEROCK IS THE BRIGHT SOLACE OF THE FOUR SEASONS AND THE REMAINS OF A DEAD SOLDIER’S DREAMS.

Sooth of dungeon synth motivated by a glorious dedication to the golden age of the Japanese shiro fortresses and vow to the resplendent rituals of a time honoured culture to be unchained on cassette tape upon the summer of 2022.

In the strike of the temple bell, in the song of the sweltering sun and in the shadow of the Japanese maple tree, shines that entity known only by the whisper of Castlerock. Painted into life by the brushstroke of Koreltsak, more infamous for its expression of raw black metal, as well as the noise poetry expressed through Visions of Yōkai, Castlerock is the light to the darkness of those sounds. Calming in its serenity of dungeon synth sound, this incarnation is now brought to acolytes of the mandal by the dark earthen dreams of Under the Dark Soil.

Ninomaru is the second incantation of the Kuruwa trilogy and is inspired by those shiro fortresses that still stand upon the sacred shores and mountain peaks of Nippon to this very day. Continuing the masterful expression of myriad relaxation of its predecessor, Honmaru, Ninomaru stands equal, if not taller, than that which came before – utilising strong simple melodic passages to hypnotise those experiencing it into a dreamy landscape of cherry blossoms and heartening Sengoku castles. A true exaltation of Japanese inspired dungeon synth sound.

Limited to 50 cassette tapes whispered by the rogue and milk petals of the plum blossom. Available in transparent (15 copies) and dark smoke (35 copies) variants respectively.
