Grown from the eldritch soil of the Pyrenees in the age of 2019, PYRE:NUMEN is the primaeval masterwork of archaeologist and cultural heritage antiquarian Martin Locker (BRYTHO:NUMEN and MONS:NUMEN), an entity that features elements of atmospheric blackgaze ambience, which is best displayed by the phenomenal incantation known as Nocturnal Sylvan Nostalgia. Wrapped in a noctuary tapestry of entropic noise production, hypnotic drone tremolo, drowning drum percussion, sporadic rasping whispers, astral synth ambience and dedicated antediluvian thematics, Nocturnal Sylvan Nostalgia plunges its acolytes into a weald of lunar draped dreams, in which the stars and branches give their balm to the spirit. Another incantation of primordial ichor, Nocturnal Sylvan Nostalgia is a worthy attainment for both acolytes already familiar with Martin Locker’s audial works, as well as those making their first trip into those haunted mountaintops.
